We offer well-prepared, classic Swedish, as well as international, cuisine with around ten different choices every Monday through Friday, between 10.00-15.00.

On the menu we always have Meat of the Day, Fish of the Day and what we call Always On the Lunch Menu. Our daily lunch includes salad, bread and butter, lemonade, coffee or tea and a bisquit. We also deliver for catering, take-away, menu à la carte and smaller dishes are available for order.

In our Bistro, Bar and Café 'Fin de Siècle' - French for end of the century - you can enjoy smaller hot and cold bistro dishes, beer, wine, cocktails, homemade pastries, cakes, soups, salads, sandwiches and hot beverages.  This part of the establishment is a self-service section with drop-in on the tables and we do not take table reservations for guests visiting our Bistro. If you are a large group you can make a call before your arrivial.

Good to Know

Please notify us of any allergies and/or specials dietary needs three days prior to the event. Cancellations or a change of guests must also be notified three days beforehand, otherwise you will be charged for the original price. Undertakers pay by invoice net cost 10 days.

 

 

GRoup Menus

Lilla Hasselbacken is a beautiful oasis that is close to many attractions at Royal Djurgården. We offer a special menu and a good price for bus and tourist groups if you choose to pre-order. Bus parking is available nearby. We have experience in serving big groups, so don't hesitate to contact us by telephone or e-mail that you can find here on our website. We only serve group menus for parties of at least 30 people.

Bread & Butter, tap water, coffee/tea and biscuit for lunch/ Swedish cake with cream for dinner is included in our group menus.
Additional add-ons, such as beer, wine or soft drinks, can be ordered and paid for at the bar or to a waiter.

Work At Lilla Hasselbacken

We are constantly looking for new talented and driven co-workers at Lilla Hasselbacken! At the moment we are looking for waiters with at least 3 of experience and à la carte chefs with at least 5 years of experience.

We are looking for waiters that are serviceminded, passionate and knowledgeable, driven, flexible, thorough, positive, and who love to serve. You know how to handle a register and an espresso macine and speak Swedish and English fluently. Right now we would love to see more female applicants - and if you speak an additional language or have a drivers license that is a huge plus. If this sounds like you, don't hesitate to contact us!

We are also looking for chefs who love to cook food, are passionate and knowledgeable, driven, thorough, and positive. Our menu consists of Swedish cuisine, à la carte and barbecue with an emphasis on meat, Swedish, as well as international cuisine. If you have experience in patisseries that is a big plus, but not required. You speak Swedish and English fluently. Right now we'd love to see male applicants who also speak an additional. The history of Lilla Hasselbacken

Across the road from open-air museum Skansen, lies Lilla Hasselbacken, a classic restaurant and café that first opened its doors in 1866. In the green house it is easy to feel at home and the premises offer nostalgic photographs and paintings that recall past times. The central, yet calm, location on Royal Djurgården makes Lilla Hasselbacken a popular choice whether you want Swedish fika, lunch, dinner or just a drink.

Lilla Hasselbacken moved to the green building on Djurgårdsslätten 78, in order to welcome the 1897 General Art and Industrial Exposition of Stockholm. Its original location was not on Djurgårdsslätten as it is today, but a couple of hundred meters away on Långa gatan 9. At the time, Lilla Hasselbacken was a favourite among variety and circus artists working at Cirkus. The artist family Orlando being among the regulars, during their many guest performances in Stockholm.

The establishment has since taken many shapes and has functioned both as an inn, and up until the 1980s as a café. After a fire in 1960, the building was restored in its original Oscarian style and the characteristic ornamental veranda was added to the facade once more. Since 1981, Lilla Hasselbacken has been run as a restaurant and café and is an ever-popular oasis on Djurgården.
